Barista
As a Barista, you are the face and representative of our cafe location. As the first person, our customers will interact with, it is imperative that our Baristas have the ability to provide a consistent, “above-and-beyond” customer service experience for everyone who walks in. Similarly, the ability to craft consistent, quality drinks is of utmost importance. There are several differentiating factors that set Pumphrey and Beard apart, and we expect our Baristas to be able to effectively communicate to customers what makes us special as well as answering any questions that may arise: excitement and passion for coffee and hospitality make that communication genuine.

Line Cook
As an integral role in our Brunch service cafe, a line cook will assemble and plate menu items with keen attention to detail. With the main goal being preparing high-quality menu items, a great line cook has a natural interest in cooking food and food service. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Responsibilities will include maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, executing food orders, maintaining a rotated & stocked kitchen line, among other daily responsibilities.

Prep Cook
As an integral part of our Back of House staff, our prep cooks will perform routine kitchen tasks, such as setting up work-stations, prepping menu ingredients, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment. A great prep cook has a natural attention to detail and is able to work well with a team. The ideal applicant has a natural ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency. The responsibilities of a prep cook include completing prep lists, reading and executing recipes, and maintaining an organized storage system.

Dish Washer
We are looking for dedicated, motivated, and organized individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Our dishwashers will be responsible for removing soiled dishes and plate-ware from tables, washing them thoroughly, and re-setting them into dish storage. In addition, our dishwashers will have the opportunity to assist in food preparation during slow volume periods. An ideal dishwasher should be a committed, communicative team player who can adapt to what is needed - They should be able to prioritize and organize the daily tasks at hand.
